Australian Screen Review is a site for critical commentary on Australian-made film, television and online streaming content. Its aim is to draw attention to the way Australian screen stories are told and who they are about.

It is a reflective space for analysing how Australian stories portray race, ethnicity, gender, sex, sexuality, nationality, age, ability, class, history, politics and so on. It reviews content that is current and historical, reflecting the way that streaming services bring back older titles for new audiences. It does not award stars or make recommendations on what to watch or not watch.

Articles are paid. Prospective writers are encouraged to pitch to the Editor at asr[at]
